“Adding Value” is something I have been told my entire life by my father. While some days it wasn’t exactly what I wanted to hear, it is still something that I will be forever grateful for. “Adding Value” should always be at the center of all we do. Whether that is our job, our business, family or friends! If you always try to make your environment better then by in large people will just want to spend more time around you. Always looking for ways to better the lives of those around will not just benefit their life but it will drastically improve your own as well!
If you work in a job you hate it can become easy to watch the clock until it is time to go home but if you proactively look for ways to help your boss and coworkers, I guarantee that will make it more enjoyable. People love to talk about themselves. So if we try to stop for a minute and actually listen to others, we are adding value to their life and ours as well. Listening is the cheapest way to get free information and make people like you. I mean think about it, everyone has a passion and an interest they learn about in their free time and that they are dying to talk about. If you ask your coworker about their interest they will tell you about everything! Every small little detail that took them years to learn and your getting it in some small conversation.
Intelligence plus character, that is the true goal of education

Looking at life this way will improve your life and everyone around you. Getting people to give you their knowledge will make you wiser and make them feel more fulfilled.
